Happy Karwa Chauth! Wishes
Karwa Chauth is a traditional Hindu festival celebrated primarily by married women in Northern and Western India, who observe a strict Nirjala Vrat (a day-long fast without food or water) from sunrise until moonrise to pray for the longevity, safety, and prosperity of their husbands. Falling on the fourth day after the full moon in the Hindu lunar month of Kartik, the festival is marked by vibrant cultural rituals, including the pre-dawn Sargi meal gifted by mothers-in-law, festive bridal adornments (Solah Shringar), and late-afternoon community prayers where women listen to traditional folklore. The fast is broken only after the moon rises, when women view the moon and then their husbands through a traditional sieve, after which they take their first sip of water and bite of food.
